Join Bold Betties and Colorado Watersports for a ladies STANDUP PADDLE BOARD lesson.

Bold Betties – grab your hat and sunscreen for some incredible fun on the water Saturday, Aug. 20. Join us for a 2 hour Stand Up Paddle Board Session, complete with equipment rental, 1 hour of instruction and an additional hour of playtime.

Stand Up Paddle Boarding (SUPing) is now one of the fastest growing sports in the US; it’s fun, great exercise, and something you can do on just about any beach/lake vacation around the world.

What will I learn?

Throughout the first hour the trained instructor will run through the basic paddling and framework techniques and provide you with all the skills and information you need to become a self-sufficient Stand Up Paddler.

 Safe method of lifting and carrying

 The progression of kneeling to standing - and when kneeling is advantageous

 Different foot positions

 How to paddle the board efficiently

 How to turn

 The benefits of experimenting with trim, edge and balance

The 2 nd hour is yours to explore the lake and practice your new skills.

Prior Experience Needed?

None! Adult women and all experience levels welcome.

What’s Included

 All equipment (paddleboard, paddle and life vest)

 1 hour with a Trained Instructor

 1 additional hour of free time on the board

 Bottle of water

 Snack

What to Bring:

 Wear a swim suit, quick dry clothing, sun hat, and/or sunglasses.

 Bring a towel and an extra set of clothing with you if you want to change afterwards.

NOTE: There is an $8 entrance fee to access Chatfield Reservoir – it’s FREE if you have a valid CO State Parks Pass. This is not included in the class price. 

DIRECTIONS: Ask for map and directions to the Colorado Watersports location. They probably won't know about the Bold Betties meet up group. If entering the Park from Wadsworth Blvd: Pass the entrance station. Turn RIGHT at the first stop sign. Follow this road around the southern end of the Park. You will be on this road for a couple miles. Go past the all the campgrounds on your left. Turn LEFT towards the Marina/Boat Ramp. At the first stop sign, turn LEFT and then take an immediate RIGHT
into the parking lot. Take a slight RIGHT and look for the Colorado Watersports flag. You can take the dirt driveway and park at the building.
